Default Clicking and Popping from a Toshiba XA1

All of a sudden my Toshiba XA1 started making a click and popping noise. Not like one of those tribal guys from Africa but more like a broken old typewriter. Even behind acousticaly treated doors with cooling fans running in the rack - you can hear it.

The player still works but it sounds like it doesn't have much life left in it.

Does anyone have this problem or any advice other than to buy a new player. For $1,000 - I expect longer life from this player but it has been problematic the entire time I have owned it including A LOT of HDMI "handshake" issues.
