A dinosaur isn't extinct until they are all gone, so until my player (XA2) dies, I'll keep them, and it is a great upscaling DVD player, so I won't be sending them to you any time soon!

I would argue that no one should be buying standard DVD players now. If you need a disc spinner, make it Blu-ray and be ready for tomorrow!

Agreed investing in old technology is a waste of $ I wish I could go to Cedia and see what the future holds.

Does anyone know if France or some other French speaking country is still keeping HD DVD alive?
I have noticed at Fry's that a good amount of the HD DVD titles are showing both English and French artwork on the cases.
I just started seeing these English/French titles in the last few weeks.
Prices are still between ~$3 and ~$12 for HD DVDs at Fry's.

I'm still considering picking up an HD-DVD player if I can find one & using it for upconverting player until I jump...
I'm sure I would also jump on some HD DVDs given their current price.
And, I plan to buy a PS-3 soon for BluRay....
So, why would I consider HD-DVD?? Price is right now. Some movies, I wouldn't consider reference, but may want to own, and friends can't borrow to loose/never return!!! This would make a great player when I move current LCD to main living area also, and keep PS3 in my main "Media Room"...
just a thought....

Unfortunately, at my local Fry's (metro Atlanta), the only $3 title is their abundant quantities of the movie Pulse.
