I see you are affiliated with Pinnacle? I have also used their excellent products to transfer VHS tapes to DVD.

For Mac users I use Mac the Ripper as well as Handbrake. Both are FREE. I like Handbrake better than Mac the Ripper for their are WAY more features that allow you to do more with you old DVD collection. If you're an AppleTV fan in anyway Handbrake is the way to go.
