Thumbs up Re: Onkyo dropping HD-DVD support

Jerry, I`m sure you have. Hopefully, now they are regretting it.

If this is indeed the case I guess we can stick a fork in HD DVD. It's a shame.

Universal is doing what it has to. Toshiba/MS know what they need to do and they know the window of opportunity is quickly closing.

Well with an annoucement of the likes that Universal is going to release on BR, I'd say the window is getting slammed shut. I don't think Paramount will be too far behind if this is the case.

HD DVD's biggest supporter caving in will be a media circle jerk of spin.

Well that window isn't shut yet, but it's closing. If Tosh/MS pull off the third studio, Universal will stick to HD DVD (and so will Paramount) if not...

The timeframe that Toshiba has is getting smaller.

Understood, and I hope Toshiba/MS have what it takes to get the job done. Although I honestly don't know how feasible it will be to grab a studio that quickly though. I'd imagine the red tape and legalities would be the biggest issue.

Plus isn't MS pretty involved with Yahoo right now?
