HD DVD about to fight back...
The fight is coming. I saw somethings today that I am sworn NOT to speak about that says they are NOT going down lightly.
Toshiba and Microsoft have TOO MUCH riding on this. THEY MUST prove to the studios they are for real. If they do - perhaps they cut out their own niche? I know a lot of people don't want that but look at the video game world and the success THREE format have. |
Re: HD DVD about to fight back...
I still think they will both be dead in five years. Sorry for being a pessimist, but once downloads and servers take off, in full 1080p with uncompressed audio, they are done. A few stalwarts like myself will keep players for both formats or universal players for the discs we own, but most people will simple download their content.
Look at the new MacBook Air, NO optical drive..... Some might think it's crazy, but it is likely the wave of the future. |

I am with hddvd till it's last dying breath, but they need more studio support.
An interesting side note Toshiba confirmed that the HD-A2 player will play TL-51's with a firmware upgrade. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=983365 |

Called my local circuit city today. $100.04 is the clearance price. Toshiba better have something up their sleeve.
