The format war will not be decided by Netflix. HD DVD currently has 2 exclusive studios and they are going after more. If they get more, they’ll be fine. If they don’t get more or end up losing studios, it’s over.

Nah the BDA no longer has to do stuff like that, I'm sure Netflix was never happy buying three formats for the same movie and now with over 70% of movie studios firmly behind BD it's a matter of them buying movies from Uni and Para/DW that will be on BD shortly *my opinion*. Also companies ALWAYS stay as neutral as possible until the second they change their minds (look at WB and soon look at PARA((guess)) )

At this point no other studio will go HD DVD, they would be shooting themselves in both feet. Just ask Lotus for an update from his contacts in a day or so and he will agree.

Your list is something a lot of HD DVD supporters should pay attention to. It really breaks down the totallity of the situation.

I'm waiting to see what happens regarding studios in the next few weeks.

For all we know, the BDA could be refusing to get in a bidding war to keep some studios and worked out a deal with Netflix as a preemptive strike. Kind of a wild theory, but we just don’t know.

Should Universal or Paramount leave, I will concede defeat 100% (but I still won’t buy Blu-ray).

Toshiba doesn't have weeks to make a decision that's the problem.

They have had 5 weeks since the WB annoucement and effectively done nothing to turn the tides.
