HD DVD wins day after X-MAS

Yesterday HD DVD outsold BD around 1.3 to 1 according to Nielsen.

It was also the biggest day ever for either format in sales.

From the look of things HD DVD may win it's 2nd week of the year and its first week since the first week of January.

Currently on Amazon.com they hold the top 4 spots in DVD sales. They have the highest average rank of the top 10 products (on the format) ever between the two at 16.3

Here in Canada, Future Shop was selling the Toshiba HD-D3 player for $100 on Boxing Day. They sold out too fast.

$100 seems to be a magic price point.

If you can get enough market saturation early, you could force a win.

Personally, I think the HDMI issues need to be cleared up and player load times must improve for places like Future Shop (in Canada) or Best Buy and Circuit to start REALLY selling the players here as true attach sales.
