Guys,

Wear the damn thing! At least keep it on a winder so it stays running! I wear mine and would feel badly if I didn't, it is after all a watch! Yes, it has HUGE sentimental value, far superior to it's monetary value, but to be honest it is worthless if it isn't worn!

Enjoy it! That is what it was made for!

my prediction:

other than title announcements, no big studio news. WB won't announce exclusivity for either format until after CES.

That may have been true with 30GB discs, but with 51GB discs he may be surprised. Again it will be one of those cross your fingers things.
That doesn't affect the bandwidth limitation of HD DVD one bit.

Spielberg's Close Encoutners encode, with both high-bit-rate video and lossless audio, wouldn't even fit on HD DVD... 51GB or otherwise... because of the reduced bandwidth.

WB isn't going anywhere they're going to remain neutral for awhile longer.

Since that is a Sony title I see it as an extremely mute point. Sony will cling to bluray until it's last dying breath.

His titles from Universal and Paramount, Dreamworks will look fantastic. Above 20 mbps you will never see the difference anyway. Encoders and blind tests have more than confirmed this. At 20mbps VC1 or AVC is the equivalent of at least 40 mbps mpeg-2.
