Here is a new Prediction that I put at about 50/50 for CES:

WB goes HD DVD exclusive.
MS announces a HD DVD version of the 360.

Toshiba announces TVs with builtin HDs, Internet Capabilities...and LIVE are in development for late Summer release.

Then why were all his films available on VHS, LD, and DVD? Are they somehow "closer to his standards" than HD DVD?!?

Seems to me, for Spielberg, it's all about money. When there are 3 million players in the wild, he'll approve their releases. I don't think Uni needs his approval for Jaws, however, nor do I think they need it for Jurassic Park.

Well you could look at it that way....

or you could say that MS got what it needed (A CE to make a TV with Live) and Toshiba got what it needed to get Warners ($$$$).

If Warners says they're HD DVD bound, don't be shocked to hear about a new Toshiba TV with Live is all I'm saying.

I respect Spielberg so I'm not going to get into all of it, but the important thing is that his friendship with Peter Jackson has lead to the possible change of heart.

I just hope he likes the transfers.

I for one am hoping to see many new high end pre/pro's capable of the new audio formats, but alas I dream...
