I believe this would include:

Caught In A Web
You Not Me
Under Peruvian Skies
Burning My Soul
Pull Me Under
Another Day
Take The Time
Under A Glass Moon
The Root Of All Evil
Overture 1928
Constant Motion

After a lot of experimentation, the most recent Systematic Chaos seems a return to form. Little bit of screaming I could do without, but compelling. The special edition offers a DD5.1 mix (be sure any dialog volume steering is OFF!)

I totally disagree. Metal is POWERFUL, technical and emotional. It is PERFECT for high resolution and 5.1.

Unfortunately, The Black Album is a POOR example of the format and the genre's potential.

I agree totally....this DVD-A sounds really bad IMHO. You can imagine how good it might have sounded if the symbols and highs were better than a course "tschhhh" sound. I've heard better demo's And, I won't accept it was a concept sound that Metallica were aiming for either. Compare to the SQ of many other examples like Porq Tree.

can you imagine what St. Anger would have sounded like on DVD-Audio? It was already one of the worst sounding CDs ever made and if the same people who did the DVD-Audio version of the black album (which actually sounds pretty good on CD i think), it would be a high-end screetching nightmare.

Right.

Ask 100 people on a street corner if they could name a Dream Theater song let a long sign you one of those catchy melodies.
