If HD-DVD software is so much cheaper to produce how come it costs the same if not more than Blu-Ray movies?

It's a rebadged XA2 with slight changes. When it actually hits the market it will be more competitively priced than the $899 they claimed in August. I've heard $499 to $649. However since it will be hitting the week of Black Friday...

My money is on the lower price point.

There are 11 factories with BD25 replication status with 3 more about to start-up as well in Russia, Laser-Video Multimedia and Quantum Optical Laboratories (QOL)

Don't accuse other people of "lying" when you're doing it yourself.

PS - in 2007 75% of Blu-ray Discs released have NOT used MPEG-2.

You're right, there EXIST many lines, but are they in use? Not to my knowledge. Last I checked (and it was over a month ago) there were only 3 replication lines IN USE, because most of them have a 10% yield. Even Sony's yields were around 38%.

Are you saying they finally found a solution to this problem?

If so, my apologies for not being up to date.

This is marketing. It has little do with anything but marketing. Currently they believe that consumers will pay the extra amount for HD content.

They're of course wrong. If HD DVD cost on average $4 more than its DVD counterpart you'd actually see better sales. Paying $30 at Best Buy for a title is not a good strategy.
