However since you're implying it was me I sure hope Andrew can look at the IP adresses and let you guys know it wasn't me.

That's just petty behavior and not something I would ever do.
For what it's worth I absolutely don't believe it was you - that username is familiar to me and it is very obvious that it was trolling.

I expect to see a few more known trolls crawl out of the woodwork here in the days ahead.

Great. Can you please do this at AVS and not here?
It's not personal at all - it reveals the source of much of the misinformation that is being propagated on people in this very thread.

As for AVS, they protect HD DVD shills over there, anyone can see that.

Why else would talkstr8t be the ONLY Blu-ray insider to still post there while Max, Penton, Paid, etc., only post at BD.com?

Case closed.

As for the rdjam debacle, it is very closely related to what YOU'RE saying Disney has done and really, if one were to look with even a slightly discerning eye, would show that perhaps your misinformation on what Disney has been doing has come from the same source.

Wouldn't you agree?
Did Planet Earth fall in the top 10?

Yes. Case Closed.

Obviously the top title isn't going to translate to universal popularity but because Amazon is so big it should translate to being a top seller in general. Which it was. I think everyone is smart enough to know that Amazon doesn't equal EXACT numbers that will universally shown to be true. It is however well inside the same ball park and that has routinely been proven by people who don't have an agenda.

I'm not RDJAM and I didn't hear about Disney through anything but my own life. What I've seen and who I've talked to. I posted exactly why Disney would make the change and how it has little to do with anything but MONEY. My opinion is pretty much the same as Bob Iger's. Sooner or later they will likely be neutral.

If both continue to exist the likelyhood of more neutral studios grows greatly. It is just common business. There is money to be made in the other pond. If that pond isn't going anywhere you might as well jump in and take advantage.

Disney for one has believed that HD DVD would die. It hasn't and likely won't. Once they're truly convinced HD DVD isn't dying is likely when they go neutral.

I'm not RDJAM and I'm not easily convinced of rumors. Disney however isn't a rumor and look at Iger quotes to back it up. He always adds something about them possibly going neutral at some point and always looking at the overall picture. While his VPs repeat the BDA lines, he continues to be a CEO who states they examine everything.

As they should. I have no bone in this. From a business sense this whole war is stupid. Warner is the only Studio currently doing the right thing.

Ignore them!

If you knew them and knew what he was up to why bait them or make yourself look poorly?

Why refer to them as a troll. If it's a troll all they want is your attention and you gave it to them.

Because they aren't interested in debating, they are interested in an effective marketing medium to further the success of their businesses. This doesn't imply that they are not telling the truth, although it is likely a mixture of truth and omission, but you can not be so naive as to believe that they are participating online for the betterment of the human race or the greater good of the AV community, can you?

It's great you are so passionate about blu-ray, but at least be honest with yourself about the motivations for insiders around a technology that is worth billions of dollars over the next home media cycle.

I have found the most reliable person in terms of inside information to be Penton Man who is deeply involved in Hollywood. He was the first and only person to make mention of the Paramount payoff before it was annoucned by Viacom the next day.

If Disney were looking into HD DVD he would have posted it.

What he has said about Warner recently in response to people looking at the Amazon numbers is the following:

After discussions yesterday, I am not concerned about this or any other future HD DVD sales for that matter. Personally now, I think there should be sufficient sales data even without waiting for 5th quarter numbers or beyond.

The only thing on my mind at this time is whether a certain would be totally blu studio gets “exce$$ively mounted” like another one did several months ago to corrupt a reasonable assessment of the situation.

If you guys that are PMing me about HD DVD bogo sales want to worry about something, that is the only possible thing I can see that could potentially derail a good expedited outcome…… and so far, everything is still on track.

Later
Now this doesn't mean Warner is signed, sealed and Blu-ray delivered, but it does suggest that this is the direction they are headed.

However you should all know that MS will try and do everything they can to *corrupt* the decision that Warner will make in the best interests of ending the format war and allowing HDM to head towards mass market adoption and that can only mean the death of HD DVD.
