Lotus,

I think it would be funny to see an A1 or XA1! I had the XA1 and it was so flippin' slow to load, the demo would be a huge flop as no one would want to wait the minutes to load a disc!

Yesterday for the first time EVER a High Def disc was Number 1 in DVD Sales on Amazon.

It was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

In HD-DVD.

Number 2 was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Number 3 was Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone.

Number 4 was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The top 4 selling DVDs were all HD DVDs.

The after-opening their new HD DVD player Christmas present buying has begun.

Sure people got BD players for Christmas too, but less than half as many.

This was obviously due to parents buying Order of the Phoenix to go as a present but not the other films.

Today it looks like "Goblet of Fire," will be number 1, and yes, the next 3 are also Harry Potter films on HD DVD.

Looks like HP is surpassing BD even according to Nielsen now.

"Blu-ray has made as big of a mess of its hardware support and platforms as imaginable, and its stabs at interacivity are doing nothing but decreasing the performance of the players out there now. If Warner hasn't pulled the plug on BD by now it's hard to imagine what would tip the balance." Shane Buettner from Ultimate AV

That statement says it all. When I see results like I do at amazon today it is clear which way Warner should go. They need to $h!t or get off the pot. Here you have the format they developed get the #1 spot at amazon in a HDM release. Get it together Warner, you have a chance to win royalties galour if your format succeeds, make it happen! Clearly T3, Blade Runner, and the Harry Potter boxset are showing the problems supporting 2 formats can have.
