And the fact that every HD DVD player can decode Dolby TrueHD internally, yet such a small percentage of HD DVD discs even bother to provide lossless sound, just amplifies the problem that HD DVD either has disc-space limitations that are preventing lossless from being provided, or it's being supported by studios who (ironic I know) don't place the highest priority on transparent audio/video encoding. They could cancel their appearance between now and then. If they do I doubt the HD DVD PRG are going to release a PR about it either. |

True… I guess the question is: When did they commit to attending the HD DVD press event? When did the HD DVD PR Group alert the press about who would be attending? If these events are fairly recent, it could provide clues. Certainly it’s better that they are listed then if they weren’t listed!

I don't really think it changes anything. Has the BDA announced who will be there yet? My feeling right now is we either see Warner and Universal going Blue... or Warner, New Line going Red, and Disney going Purple. Either one means an end to this stupid war so let it happen already. |
