Unfortunately they closed out that deal several months ago - if I recall correctly you had to purchase your original quantity (it was either 3 or 5) by 12/31/06 - I just missed it when I got my PS3 and first discs in January!

Seems Randy Hargrove over at Block Buster has hinted that HD DVD will be hitting shelves in January....
Seems the 250 stores where they still carry both, HD DVD has done well enough to make them change their stance. |

I think that it would not make financial sense to be exclusive to BD only. Especially with as much space as BB has. Does anyone know the numbers for VHS rentals currently? I would think that BB will be getting a lot more floor space soon. VHS is dead!
$99.00 HD DVD players and $29.00 DVD players does anyone rent VHS anymore? You can buy VHS movies 10 for $10.00. |

They would have made BD backward compatible like they did with SACD. And I think they would have sold more BD titles (instead of standard DVD's) in anticipation of the customer buying a BD player. That's what I did with SACD titles before owning a SACD (Universal) player.

That would be cool. Unlike many folks on both sides who "hate combo", I like the idea of a combo disc (DVD and BD or HD DVD). However, my issue would be that a combo disc needs to be read from one side (ie, not a flipper). Having to get out your reading glasses to figure out which way to insert a disc isn't ideal in a darkened HT room...
