It just sounds like spin to me because if they really did have some big thing happening now is the time to run it out!
It's not spin... it was described as a pen click away from going the other way.. it was gonna be a big ces for hd dvd. The BDA did what they had to do. I'm sure someone will update you on what actually happened. If no one will then I will when work slows down a bit.

Price cuts or fire sale?

Where is the new Toshiba unit announced at CES?
Oh wait, there wasn't one.

So Lotus, do you think price adjustments for the Xbox drive and Venturer players are in a holding pattern until the next couple of weeks play itself out?

Toshiba and MS NEED to have a good next couple of weeks. Its that simple.

Blu-ray has the momentum. My friends and contacts (good ones) know this on BOTH sides of the argument. The HD camp says they wont pay for a studio. I say BS. They will if given the chance.

Sleeper sector is PORN. I am not joking here. Next week's lead is all about it.

Nah, let M$ and Toshiba both FRY! I hate M$ anyway, and Toshiba gets what they deserve for aligning with them, and trying to foist a format with lower capacity and lower audio quality on the consumers.
