Fujitsu to Cease Making HDTVs by End of March 2008

I was thinking about this last night, and given the rise of companies like Vizio, I guess it's just to difficult to compete for your share of the market. Fujitsu, while making excellent plasmas, wasn't ever really a household name.

I, for one, am not too happy "watching the way of the plasma"....it seems that technology is coming to an end unless "something" new arises within the plasma world!!!

Have you seen the new Pioneer ELite Kuro line of 1080p plasmas?

To my eyes they are the best TV set ever made.

Fujitsu never answered to the markets changes. They remained prohibitavely expensive and while their high end competition was improving PQ and dropping prices Fujitsu was slow to answer in PQ gains let alone price drops.

I loved their plasmas 4 years ago. They just never adjusted.

While the Vizio type of companies simply took over. They definately proved there was a market for the product.

Kenny, have you seen the new LED LCD tvs from Samsung?

They have better color accuracy and black levels that aren't that off from the Kuro. I'm torn between the two. I love aspects of both. They should make a TV that combines them both into an Uber tv that I would buy plenty of.

Haven't seen the new LED Sammies, but last I looked the Kuro Elite was undoubtedly the best picture I've ever seen! I will go look at them soon though!
