Was Def Leppard ever a consideration? They have two double diamond albums, and still fill an arena! What gives?!

I voted on this and while I like Rush more personally - STP has better songs, better melodies, more hits etc...

I wouldn't want to be without either band and wish today's bands were even in the neighborhood of both acts (they are not) but when you do the spreadsheet honestly - you will see.

YES - they were a consideration but fell short.

Remember, this was a TOP 10 list with 100 bands being considered.

Kiss was one band that we really took it on the chin for leaving out.

They were something live I understand but do they really make anyone's top 10 in the end?

Well Jerry, I don`t know what the criteria is for this list, but if I had to choose from quality songs, top hits, perform very well live in concert (I`ve seen them years ago at Carnegie Hall here in New York), it would have to be "Chicago." One of the best horn sections put together. The only other two horn sections that would rival them would be, of course, "Tower of Power' and "Earth, Wind, and Fire". And these two groups, especially Earth, are classic in their own rights.
