The smashing pumpkins were considered but there were MANY better bands from that genre who beat them out.

What about MANDRILL?. Those of you that know of Mandrill, know that their horn players, the Wilson Brothers, were outstanding. And still enjoy a cult following today. Which includes myself, obviously.

How about an obscure band like "Taste?"
Better than a couple of Metal neanderthals, each banging out arpeggios of three notes on their guitars as fast as they can. Stone Temple Pilots? Blonde? Dixie chicks? Rory Gallagher continued after the Tastes' break up for 10 years and 30 million albums. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rory_Gallagher Hey!! Where are the Yardbirds? No birds no Cream, no Led Zepplin.
