WTF: Prince and the Revolution, Earth Wind and Fire, Parliament Funkadelic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dixie Chicks, The Beastie Boys (SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HELL, #49!), Tool, No Doubt, Alice In Chains, Orbital, Little Feat, Duran Duran, Living Colour, Blondie, #76-82, #85-90, #96-100.
you could have done better
You did a decent job of picking a top ten although including YES and VH in a TOP 10 drags it down like a stone. But admiting not knowing who P/F is and pickin Skynyrd over the Feat is tantamount to saying "please don't take my list seriously."

Kenny, As a side... I went with a friend to see the P/F all stars for my birthday a couple a years ago. the show was over 7 hours long and I got drunk and sobered up twice. I went home the next morning and my friends said the could smell the dance sweat on me for days. GC didn't look well. He he he.

u cant really make a top 100 list of bands coz everyones taste is different, but some of the bands up there are really good and i love listening to them. my opinion of the #1 position however should be PINK FLOYD coz although those bands are awesome, pink floyd is the only one that really moves me when i listen to them and makes me want to learn guitar, become an awesome singer and start a tribute band. seriously guys get into it. listen to dark side of the moon and ull b hooked.

I posted a while ago (I belive it was page 7) about "X Japan" and "J-Rock"...
Has anyone heard the closing song "I.V." for the movie Saw IV? Surprise surprise, it's by X JAPAN! I knew they would have to gain recognition out here sooner or later, I'm just glad it finally happened.
I figured I'd throw that out there...that, and sort of me saying "I told you so".

Why the heck isn't Oasis on this list? They've composed and performed some of the greatest songs ever.. They atleast should be in the top 50....
