And when a circuit calls for a 1 ohm resistor, do you substitute 2 ohms because you figure no one can hear?

I guess it just depends on how good your ears are and mine aren't that great but I sure could hear the difference, big time. Again, I know nothing about silver cables.

Are you trying to say that in 3 feet of cable there could be a 1 ohm difference between the two?

I agree. The most noticeable difference I heard was from switching out Monster Cable speaker wire from my center channel to some go-awful expensive AudioQuests. I could really hear it. And I know how to listen. So there.
