All I know is that my powered subwoofers put out over twice the sound when I switched from gold plated regular cables to gold plated Monster cables, so cable quality really does make a big difference. Which are the best, though, I cannot tell you. I am so happy with what I have now, I haven't felt the need to change. Sorry I cannot help with the silver cables.

No, I keep my subs at top volume all the time and control their volume through a separate sub control box. No accidental bumping here, strictly difference in cable. Big difference when I changed my 16 gauge speaker wire to 12 gauge also. Wire makes a difference.

The gauge made the difference, not the wire brand. That has been proven time and time again.

Well, DUH, of course. That is what I was saying. Did I mention a brand when I spoke about the speaker wires?? Pay attention and don't make a fool of yourself.

I'm a newbie here, but not to audio in general, and even to the most skeptical, it is a fact that Ag provides less resistance than Cu (BTW, gold is worse than either of these). It is not surprising that, therefore, some change will occur when you switch from copper to silver of the same gauge. Less resistance means less damping. Many find that this causes their systems to sound "bright", a sound they are not used to. I use silver interconnects in certain areas of my rig where I can't used balanced connections. But using silver over copper it's not all BS. Oh, and silver oxide is almost as good a conductor as pure silver, so tarnish is not a problem. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for copper, which is why they should be plated, usually with gold.
