Shorten my speaker cables?

I dont do HT. The AV5140 sound as good as the amplification you use with. My favs Classé and Bel Canto. Beats Active Linn amplification hands down.

I'm using the best I could afford, which is the Fascination line.

If you are using Naim amps don't forget that they are designed to have a certain minimum amount of speaker cable for the amps to operate properly, so consult your dealer before shortening any speaker cables in a Naim setup.

Conventional Wisdom is: Use SHORTER spkr cable and LONGER interconnects, if
a choice must be made between the two. The only performance exception is if you are using
a passive pre-amp. So.....

KEEP the longer cables and sell them.
USE/buy shorter speaker cables (the same brand and model if you are satisfied with them).
Buy GOOD WINE with the difference!

before you do anything, demo the cables you want to try before you buy. if i have to choose between a long run of speaker wire or long run of interconnects, i would choose a balanced pair of interconnects for the long run and shorter length of speaker cables. i have used 4ft speaker cables with monoblock amps with very good success. i have also used 25' balanced interconnects with equally success. i would hesitate on using a pair of un-balanced interconnects over a 2 meter length.
