That may be the case now. And early adoptors are usually us, the philes. So, we come to expect this. Though, I in particular, don`t. But remember, we have plenty of consumers that bought HD DVD early, then the rest, jumped in after the prices plummented to their lowest levels. If you remember last years Black Friday. Those consumers, some are my neighbors, with families and kids, are now stuck, once again, with a player they can not use, and software that is obsolete.

These are the burned folks. And most of the ones I know, have yet to purchase Blu-Ray players.

From Engadget,

Although we'll probably have to wait another week for the official Nielsen VideoScan charts to reflect the sales of Iron Man this week on Blu-ray, director Jon Favreau was bragging on the Howard Stern Show that the sales of Iron Man had already outsold every other Blu-ray release to date. We can't say we're that surprised though, especially after reports that the load on Paramount's BD-Live servers were too much to handle -- not to mention the fact that it is/was the number two selling disc on Amazon (the DVD version is number one). Either way, it'll be interesting to see how much better Iron Man moved discs then the previous record holders like Spider Man 3, I Am Legend and Casino Royale.

From Gizmodo,

Iron Man Blu-ray has outsold every other Blu-ray release to date.

According to a casual announcement by John Favreau on the Howard Stern show, as of Thursday, Iron Man Blu-ray has outsold every other Blu-ray release to date. Without firm sales numbers, the accomplishment might not be saying much. Yet it's still a testament to how a major new release (which is verified awesome on 150 inches) can reinvigorate the Blu-ray platform. But Iron Man camp, you'd better watch your back. Because The Dark Knight is coming to whoop you up December 9th, bitches*!

It only took me around 5 mins to download the BD live stuff.
It was a very fun movie & I'm looking forward to the sequel.
I did notice I had to really turn up the volume to get it to play at the level I wanted.
And i expect The Dark Knight to brake this and all records when it drops this December cant wait for it.

the movies were meant to the watched with Blu-ray HD sound and picture i love it!

Looks like they dumped Howard for Cheadle for Iron Man 2. Also, just because you played a "fictional" 50-cent character in a movie, it does not make you a real one.

By Associated Press
LOS ANGELES -- Terrence Howard says was surprised to learn that Don Cheadle would replace him in "Iron Man 2."

"It was the surprise of a lifetime," the actor and musician told National Public Radio on Tuesday. "There was no explanation, (the contract) just up and vanished."

Howard said he read news reports that money was the issue, saying the contracts he signs apparently "aren't worth the paper that they're printed on sometimes."

Cheadle assumes the role of James Rhodes, a character that becomes Iron Man's sidekick War Machine in the comics, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as weapons mogul Tony Stark.

Howard, who also starred in "Hustle & Flow," is promoting his new album "Shine Through It."
