I don't smoke and is not very dusty maybe the ocean air corrodes the equipment

This explains the problem, a scratched disc will at worst make the transport try to read it over, (assuming you have a transport that does this like the Meridian ones) BUT living close to salt water...

Not only will you accuulate salt from microscopic particales of H2O that fall onto the laser, you will also oxidize items faster for the same reason.

Don't blame the disc because you have prime real estate!

Enjoy the ocean, and the gear!

Well thank you, I don't put the equipment in the water but I guess the air is salty enough!
