Blu-ray Resolution

There is something that does not make sense. Why are most of the TV programs in 1080p format, but most of the Music videos in 1080i format?

Can someone shed some light (no pun intended) on this anomaly?

Well actually TV programs in HD are either 720P or 1080i, only HDM like Blu-Ray or hd-dvd are 1080P

Moose,

You may have misunderstood my question to the forum. I am aware that TV programs in themselves are either 720p or 1080i. However purchased Blu-ray TV programs, i.e. Planet Earth, Weeds and etc. are 1080p. Why are most of the music videos, Chris Botti - Live, David Gilmore - Remember That Night and etc available in only 1080i format? Wouldn't it make sense to provide all Blu-ray titles in 1080p?

Yea, I misunderstood your question.
That is strange, I just assumed if it was on Blu-ray it was 1080p.
