Well, it was a clue when Homer comes on in the beginning and laughs at you for actually paying money to watch something that has always been free.
Also, at the end, they elude to a sequel if you did not make it that far. |

Compare to South Park
The South Park Movie was BRILLIANT. Still stands the test of time.
Its gotta be hard to write so much content but the Simpsons Movie needed someone to send it back to the drawing board. I can ONLY imagine how hard that would be to do with the cast who holds so much power at Fox. The problem is: in the end - the movie stunk....
