Guys,
Just watched this last night, the picture on this disc is amazing! The animation is so well done and the detail off the charts, movies is Disney cute as well. If every disc had this quality of image these formats would take off faster!

I saw Cars on my Meridian projector and my meridian 800 DVD player AT CEDIA and it was OFF-the-charts good from DVD upscaled with the Faroudja processor.

Jerry,
as good as that may have looked...no contest. In fact, the DVD of cars is an edgy, muddy, VHS-esque mess next to the *perfect* 1080p image on the BD. Cars is an A+ hi-def image. Rat is an A++. These two discs set new standards for how good 1080p can look. No kidding. Check out my review of Ratatouille on Blu-ray Disc: http://dvdfile.com/index.php?option=...=6379&Itemid=3 And Cars: http://dvdfile.com/index.php?option=...=6377&Itemid=3 I'd love to see those discs on that projector!!! ![]() Last edited by DaViD Boulet; 12-11-2007 at 07:52 PM.. |

I agree with DaViD, Cars on DVD is nothing like Cars on Blu-Ray.

I agree with everyone's assessment of Ratatouille, it's absolutely fabulous! Now, you guys should see 2001: A Space Odyssey on BD, it's better than I remember in the theater. You can actually see the brush strokes on the background matte, at the start of the movie. This is the best transfer I've seen. As you may know Mr. Kubrick filmed this epic in 70mm, and it shows it, very clean detailed frames.
Get it, you'll love it. |
