I have one on order and expect to receive it in the next week or so. They are supposed to go to general availability on May 18. Early orders were accepted from people who signed up some months ago at the Oppo website and indicated an interest in potentially purchasing the player when it was ready. There are still a few minor bugs to be worked out (affecting mostly some individual Blu-Ray discs and some remaining issues with DVD-A and HDCD decoding). If you want a totally bug-free player, you may want to wait a few weeks or check with Oppo as to whether the bugs will affect you.

I am advised mine shipped yesterday.
Can't wait. My Pioneer 05FD takes forever to load, and in spite of 7+ months of promising to service firmware that will enable internal decoding of DTS-MA for analog output within the month, there iappears to be no light at the end of that tunnel. I'm wondering how the Oppo will perform on SACD compared to my Esoteric. |
