It's been a while since I was corresponding here, but recently I became somewhat miffed that 'The Studios' by exerting their powers had more or less rendered our desire to capture HDTV programs for our own personal use for all intents and purposes nigh on impossible, what with the use of encryption and the 'Flagging' of TV programs. Then I came across the eight or more Blue Ray Recorders that have been displayed at recent Consumer Electronic shows and in reading their specifications, the manufacturers would have you believe that their recorders would in fact be capable of recording HDTV; however, the catch is their inflated prices. Does anyone here own a Blue Ray Recorder and is it capable of recording HDTV programs which are not necessarily OTA ? Thanks.
