Default Re: recommendations on high end Blue Ray players

CEDIA is next month (Sept 4th) & there is sure to be some new players announced there.
I told my dealer to check to see if there were any released like a New Denon CI or Sony ES standalone.
I wouldn't buy anything but a 2.0 player either, While the online content isn't anything special now who knows what they will come out with later.
I also want the Ethernet port for firmware updates.

Indeed. Yamaha will be announcing a player, the S2900, which will be BonusView (Profile v1.1) and feature interoperability and physical features comparable to Yahama's line of receivers.

Panasonic will be announcing the DMP-BD35 and the DMP-BD55 which will both feature an updated version of the UniPhier video processor as well as an Ethernet port for BD-Live compatibility. (The 55 will also have 7.1 analog outputs for use with older receivers, while the BD50 only has 5.1 analog outputs.) http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=1655
