PS3 getting DTS-HD-MA Confirmed

That denon price is RIDICULOUS!!!!! and you are correct it is already obsolete. now that the battle is over, I hope these OEM's get there act together. I do not mind spending 1500 if it has EVERYTHING and is future proof like the PS3 but with no internal limitations. We will see!!! So far I have stuck with Sony but I do love DENON but they need to stop living off of reputation and bring some reaall value to the Blu-Ray party.....

I almost bought a Sony BDPS2000ES a couple of months ago because the picture & sound quality was so much better than my PS3 but at $1200 & only profile 1.1 I'll wait for the BDP-S550 profile 2.0 player coming later this year or even wait for a profile 2.0 Denon or Sony ES.

The PS3 is not a bad Blu-Ray player but I've seen that there is more quality to be had from Blu-Ray & I want the best picture & audio I can get!

the moose,i congratulate you your happynest for recognized the playstation 3 is the best machine for a price in multi player category,however the only update has download is v2.20 is not working or not included dts hd is included mosquito filter and updated the voice changer and additional feature,but sony is still working on it and you can call a scea[sony playstation or enter the web site www.playstation.com/costumer service,]and asking when is coming the next update but thank you for your info [ i believed sony is download updated with DTS HD MASTER] everybody wants this,keep it on.

Panasonic video quality is better in my view than the Sony blu ray players, but Sony BDP-550 should be very nice.

Let's hope they price it right

Actually I was talking about firmware v2.30 which is to be released next week, then it will decode DTS-HD-MA.

Too be honest I have not seen marked differences between the PS3 and the BDP500 but I have noticed some. I definitely hear differences between the two. I really cannot phantom buying another player unless it has all the codecs and has wifi. Being able to download updates this way is fantastic! The one piece I need to update is my projector (Sharp 12000U). It is awesome but 1080I only. Nevertheless, I have seen 1080P projectors and they don't impress me so I will hold on until I see a markedly better picture. I have a 110 inch screen so I should see a difference.
