Samsung BD-P1400
 

Anyone have the Samsung BD-P1400 and having problems with it staying on the 24 frame and 1080p setting. Mine keeps reverting back to 1080i and the 24 frame turned off. Each time I go to watch a BD I have to go in and change it back. I am getting pretty frustrated with this player.

The first BD-P1400 I caught was an utter disaster. This second one has been work near perfectly. I have heard of the problem that you are having. I can't test it for sure as I don't have an HDTV capable of 24fps. However, I think Samsung addressed this problem in the firmware update. There is a relatively new firmware update available online that was released on November 2. Try that if you haven't already and let us know. Else, I would contact Samsung Level 2 support and advise them of the incapability between the player and whichever TV you have.

I did the update when I first purchased the 1400 so that I could bitstream the HD audio. I have not seen an update since the original about a month or so ago. I just went in and checked and my player said there were no new updates found. Thanks.

I don't think the ethernet connection is working properly. Go to Samsung's website and there is a new build firmware update released 11-02-2007. Download it and burn it to a disc. It works. I just did it 2 days ago.

Ok thanks I will try that this evening.

Update: I went on the website and this is the same version that shows on my 1400, note sure why the 11/2/07 dates shows on their although, because the .01 is the version that has been out for a while.
