Re: Snubs, complaints and hate-mail about the top 100 albums list

It's an outstanding list, but I see a gross error of omission---Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road! One of the best double-LPs ever. In fact, were there ANY Elton albums in that list? I would say that every album up to Captain Fantastic, should've been in the list.

Thank you, Mr DelColliano :-) And great replies, too. Right after I submitted my Elton John post, I kicked myself for not noticing that TOMMY by The Who was most definitely a significant rock album. Now that I think of it, using AVRev's list, I would rank that album third. I was kinda still a kid when it came out (1969) and at that time, didn't particularly like it. But it was definitely a breakthrough 'concept' album (or rock opera) that the music lovers all owned and bragged about.

Re: Snubs, complaints and hate-mail about the top 100 albums list

My personal top 10:

1. Darkside of the Moon, Pink Floyd
2. Abbey Road, The Beatles
3. Electric Ladyland, Jimi Hendrix
4. Sgt. Peppers, The Beatles
5. Wish You Were Here, Pink Floyd
6. LZ II, Led Zepplin
7. Joshua Tree, U2
8. Greatest Hits, Tom Petty
9. The Wall, Pink Floyd
10. Greatest Hits, ZZ Top

I guess that makes me weird. Especially the last choice, but to my defense Jimi Hendrix thought Billy was the best damn guitarist he ever saw.
