Stones SACD of the ENGLISH " AFTERMATH " is great and right up there and GREAT MUSIC , ALSO the SACD of " Between the Buttons" is good. "Begger's B." and "STONES NOW" might have some the the bands best work . Everyone should also check them out . Then you can go back and see why John Lennon said "Brian Jones was the heart and soul and the leader of the stones".

I can't believe the judges didn't pick Who's Next as part of the top 100 rock albums of all time. Top 5 for sure. Agree about the Rolling Stones being over rated.

Most people list their personal "favorites" as"the best" albums of all-time. And when I filled out this Top 100 Ranking, I also listed several albums that were long-time favorites... but they are not really "better" albums than The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

Back in the day, I wore out several copies of Buffalo Springfield - Again... but it's certainly not as refined as the recordings that Stills and Young have made since.

And I once saw Gino Vannelli live, and his voice was beyond spectacular... but his albums were not on a par with Sgt. Pepper and Zep II.

The one low-scoring recording that I still believe to be Top 20 legend, is Chicago Transit Authority. This double-album literally launched a whole new genre of "big band" rock... and Terry Kath was a major contributor to the "fuzz guitar" technology that we now take for granted.
