How can I put .mobi ebooks onto my iPad for reading?

Recently, I meet a problem about my iPad reading, I download a lot of .mobi ebooks and some are purchased from Amzaon, it has no DRM protection, and I cannot put them onto iTunes for my iPad, it seems that my iPad doesn’t support .mobi ebooks, , I ask the problem in Yahoo answer but somebody suggest me some software like ePub converter software, but it is not free, I don’t know if it really works for me and solve my problem, here is guide of that software: how to convert mobi to ePub.
