You can convert your media to .WMA lossless. WMA supports tags to store your info (artist, album, genre, even art for your album).
To convert the .WAV media of the CD and to edit the ID Tags you can use dBpoweramp (there are lots of programs out there). I do not know about the SACD and DVD-A. Last edited by zipix; 06-04-2010 at 11:26 AM.. Reason: spelling |

There is a lossless Windows Media format that has tags and moderate compression. Once you digitize your audio files, Goldwave can store it in that format. If you want to store your vinyl on optical discs, there's a format called "Music DVD" that is compatible with most of the DVD players I've seen. Roxio Creator can make those DVDs, and show the tag data along with an image for each song.
I don't know of any PC drive that will read the SACD layer either, so I have digitized an analog output from my Oppo in order to store it on my PC. |

Could you point to a resource link that explains what you said? I don't really understand your post. Thanks.

The world of SACD and DVD-audio is not going to be played back on a computer program, unless you have a music super computer or one of the new big things, audio servers, This is a digital device that you can play anything on. These audio servers are real pricey though, 7-10,000 bucks.
I have about 15 SACDS and one DVD - audio, The Dvd -A is the best in my book, but i would need another one to compare. It is Vince Gill's "High Lonesome Sound". I love my SACDs, they seem to be the future, especially the hybrid ones which you can play on any stereo. My stereo is an odd inexpensive, but real good sounding, when coming from my best source, The oppodigital 980 DVD player which plays back almost all formats, DVD-audio, SACD, HDCD, and on and on, 168 bucks new, no longer made, but oppo has anew bluray version for 499, that keeps all of the audio nicetys with the 24 bit dacs J
