Hot Buttered Soul on SACD

http://www.avrev.com/music/revs/isaachayes.shtml

This is an older recording but the content is SO good. Stereo SACD.

I've seen Ike live and he kills. Live at the Sierra Tahoe is also SMOKING but its only on CD. What a performer.

The Theme From Shaft is also out on SACD from MFSL and it is killer.

Jerry,

I bought the vinyl of "Hot Buttered Soul" recently (MFSL label) Very nice!!
Never saw him live though.

Hope this forum grows, I'm putting the word out to all my friends who are into A/V.

I have one of the T-shirts you guys sent me, people ask where I got from. I tell them to log on to avrev.com and check it out. Not sure you still offer the shirts anymore.

Keep up the good work!

I'd also like to recommend Black Moses which I still periodically pull out of my Vinyl collection. The entire sleeve folds out to reveal Issac Hayes as, you guessed it, Black Moses. It's awesome but I haven't found it in anything other than standard CD yet. Open the wine, turn down the lights, put on Black Moses. Yeah.

Re: Hot Buttered Soul on SACD

Black Moses is great because it's constructed a lot like his live concerts used to be... with the long conversational "raps" in between songs (before the days of Rap music). They probably passed on converting this epic recording into SACD simply because it's a double album (ie. higher production costs.)

But the extended version of Walk On By on Hot Buttered Soul is also BRILLIANT... and this review almost makes we want to install SACD capability into my car system (which is where I do most of my "stereo" music listening.)
