Have you guys heard this disc? It will DESTROY YOU it sounds so good.

Bob Stuart from Meridian got me hip to it and I had to track it down from Japan (thanks to some connections at Harman) in a retail store. I have never found another copy.

Do you know where to buy one in the states? Its a stereo DVD-Audio disc at 24-192. I PROMISE you if you could buy all of your old favorites this way - you would. I litterally would rebuy my entire music collection. Screw MP3 - that's like drinking Colt .45 over a smooth glass of 1959 Dom. (not that you should ever hold anything against Colt .45 - as they say "it works every time" and if my HD DVD and or Blu-ray player could say that - I would be pretty happy)

This is exciting because I'm a big fan. I was already deep into Jazz when I found out that he was from the same crumpy little city as me and I starting searching him out and buying his records. I crossed paths with him once but I think he was having a bad day. I had a long converstation with his wife Laurie one evening in a record store not long after he'd died. We talked because I happened to be playing one of his records over the sound system and she came in. What a great player.

Here is a great one to add , to any collection and i have a one of a kind of it , Early Art a double on BLUE NOTE, FIRST PRINTING signed by ART PEPPER in 100% PERFECT SHAPE ! AND Smack Up A.P. QUINTET .. For you Art Pepper Fans out there . WOW they sound great

Excellent sonics for an old 2ch lp session.

Jerry, have you heard the Sonny Rollins Saxophone Collosus & Way Out West in this 2ch 192/24 only format. Same sonics to die for IMHO

I've been quite pleased with the few Straight Ahead label releases for new jazz.
