I enjoyed the Beatles "Love" cd too in 5.1. If you don't have this DVD-A disc, you REALLY need to get it. It's the disc from Toy Matinee. The first track is called "The Last Plane Out". The entire disc is beautifull fidelity and the separation is outstanding. Do try it.

TOY MATINEE!!!

I used the CD as my demo disc selling stereo gear. Was thrilled to have the DTS disc and then the DVD-A audio disc. Such a GREAT album of songs; wonderfully written arranged and of course played.

Belatedly, there was also a Special Edition CD with a handful of demos and un-released tracks.

There is also a radio show record of Toy Matinee - Live that is quite good.

Wow...another blast from the past... Toy Matinee!

"Last Plane Out" is excellent in 5.1...and many people used to comment that this was one of Elliott Scheiner's best 5.1 music mixes.

We were looking for new material and Rory introduced me to Pat Leonard at his house... very cool guy... and EXTREMELY talented. There's also an obscure yet masterful DTS-CD sitting in the collector's bins somewhere, entitled "Rivers."

Patrick was an avid fisherman, and he used to compose a new piece of music every time he went to one of his favorite rivers (hence the title.) And "Rivers" was truly a labor of love for Pat, and is a hypnotic instrumental collage that used minimal 5.1 "effects" yet exceptional spatial imaging.

And a lot of folks are also unaware of his enormous success during the early Madonna years. Patrick is one of the lesser known industry legends and is truly a class act.

Give a listen to Donald Fagen's Morph the Cat. Not only is the SD frontman a relentless perfectionist, every single nuance can be heard as if the band is in the room with you...Elliott Scheiner strikes again

A # of titles above certainly get a thumbs up from me, but at the head of my list are....

Saxophone Colossus, Way Out West - Sonny Rollins
Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section
The above 3 disc were remastered using JVC's K2 h/w upgraded for dvda's 192/24, for older sessions sound is very, very topshelf..
A close 2nd is Almost like Being in Jazz - Hugh Masekela. These are all 2ch 192/24

Where can I get a copy of the Toy Matinee - Live recording?
