Amplifier keeps shutting off after 3 seconds

What could be wrong with my Yamaha rx-v459?

It's only happened just now. Every time I turn it on it turns off every 3 seconds...

I've pulled out all speaker wires and cables, but it's still shuts off after 3 seconds of power...

What could it be?

Could be a shorted output transistor or a faulty temp sensor or any number of things.

Is it worth taking it to Yamaha for repair?

I'd hate to have to buy a new one when this one is only 3 yrs old and only needs 1 part replaced...
