Hi all - I have a dbx BX1 amp that needs a little attention from a qualified technician. Can anyone here recommend someone in northern California where I might drop it off for a fix-up? I live in Redding but make it down to the San Francisco Bay area pretty regularly. TIA!

Hi. Just had mine repaired at SerTech Electronics on Winfield in San Jose. Use this shop a lot-one of the best. They have both the service manual and tune-up instructions. Tell them Zack sent you. Happy listening!

Thanks lennyzack - I've since had it repaired at ADK HiFi in Vallejo - great work & very reasonable (& a little closer to my home in Redding ;-) BTW - great lineup of equipment you have (I checked your profile). Besides my Apogee Duetta Signatures and my dbx amp I'm "quality shy" upstream... but working on it as the wife allows!

Very cool. Glad you got that baby running. I sell high end stero online on consignment for individuals and will be posting a BX1 in a day or so if you happen to want an extra. As coincidence has it, will also be posting a pair of Apogee Duetta Sig's! Love these speakers & wish there was room for "just one more pair".
Best, Len |

No kidding?! A BX1 & Duettas? - I'm curious, where did you acquire them & how much are you asking? Do you have a site with pics? Keep in touch Len.

The BX1 came from a recording studio in SF. The Duetta's are from the estate of a over-the-top audiophile. I had a transistor in one channel of the BX1 replaced. An $8 part and (very very discounted) labor of $380, which is how long it took to find this flea sized troublemaker.
Please send me your private email address so we can chat about the listings/sales. I don't know if these forums permit commerce and want to respect the rules of the community. My eBay username is the same as this forum name. Len |
