I have been reading a slew of reviews...and have come down to these choices.
I can get all for roughly the same price..and the EarthQuake Cinenova.....I am running B G In-Wall Ribbons...I am confused.....The editor here says the Anthem is such a good amp that people would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a Levinson and the A5. Fill me in...I need to make a purchase and am thoroughly confused......Home Theater pretty much exclusively... Thanks, Nate |

I went with an A5 for my HT.

If you're open-minded and have room for options, check out the Nuforce MCH3 SE here: http://www.nuforce.com/Product-MCH.htm This unit replaced my Bel Canto Ref 1K for stereo and double duty as a great HT amp as well. This is the multi-channel equivalent of the highly touted Nuforce Ref 9V2 SE that's blowing away lots of hi-end audiophile amps. Many reviewers are selling off their traditional amps for this unit. No kidding and a must audition to say the least.

I have to give a vote for the HPA series, I still use one, so does Jerry, they are excellent amps, the A5 is another great amp, but if I was going Anthem, I'd have to go with the P5.

Would the P5 be overkill for Studio 100's? That's the amp that I really wanted but the guy at the store advised me it would be overkill.

I ran my ML 433 and HPA-2 with the Studio 100's when I had them in for review, you almost never have to much power, my current speakers are 93dB efficient and they LOVE the new Krell Evo 403 I have. The biggest trouble people get into is having to little power, when an amp clips and distorts is when you loose drivers, ultra clean high power for short burst is usually tolerated well.
