Toshiba also says Q4 was record breaking. This is interesting because just after CEDIA they announced they held 53% of the standalone market. This was before they sold 90,000 HD-A2s at $99. But at CES, the VP of marketing for Toshiba cited NPD numbers for 2007 with HD DVD holding 49% of the market.
I'm wondering if all the talk about DVD upconverting is so they can't be sued by people when they drop HD-DVD completely.
They can say in court they were promoted as upconverting DVD players too!
