Looks like a sure fired winner. However, with the current state of this format war at its height, and the feud becoming more fierce daily, do we need a all out assault for a Blu-Ray player now?

I know its the high end way, but the trend seems to be players under $1000.00. Mostly all offer great video and audio. And with the overall marketplace still in a flux, is this a good decision by Marantz? Especially with the Toshiba players that are on the market at $500.00 and less?
