Were they listening thru an iPod with the stock ear buds, a docked iPod on a nice system, a docked iPod on an audiophile system or were they streaming the music over a computer & what gear were they using?

The regular iTunes stuff I've listened to over regular ear buds wasn't bad until I heard the same music docked to a nice sound system.

I've never A-B tested this but I don't have any MP3's myself, all my ripped music is lossless but I think I could pick out the low bit rate stuff on a nice system if it was A-B tested & I'm not an audiophile.
