Default Re: Study Shows "Non-Audiophiles" Can't Hear Difference Between 64 and 256 kbps MP3 F

Well put!

Personally I find 64 unlistenable, 128 almost bearable and 256 bearable. I code all my mp3s at 320 but I can still hear the difference when compared to CD

I would like to see a new format for audio enthusiast. I would personally like to see the music industry accept either Blu ray or HDDVD but not both as their next format. Either of these formats would enable the listener to hear music at a much higher resolution and in 5.1 to boot! With the record labels supporting one of the two formats, it should also reduce the wait time in finding the dominant format. People will "buy in" to high def if they see a clear winner.

I cannot wait to hear some of my favorite recordings in high def 5.1 and possibly some amazing concert will almost be like being there.
