I'm a bit confused. What do you mean by component? The Mac Mini has a DVI output as well as multi-channel audio support on DVD's through the above mentioned options. I consider it to be as much of a component as anything and a cheap way to get a media center computer without building one yourself or having to go the PC route. If the Mac Mini isn't to your liking I would look at one of the cheaper options from Vidabox.
