Mail in rebates.........Man they tick me off!!!

The laptop I just bought has $150 worth of mail in rebates (1 for $50 & 1 for $100)
Why have rebates?
If you are going to sell something for $700 then sell it for $700, don't make me have to fill out a bunch of forms copy receipts & cut up the box to get the UPC & then make me wait 8 to 12 weeks to get my money back!!

Do the companies actually make any money off this?
I mean 2 months interest on $150 is just a couple of bucks & it has to cost more than that in paying the people to process the rebate.

Get rid of the rebate & sell me the Damn computer for the sale price in the first place!!
