You (or some other knowlegable chap) mentioned that you would be able to see if you needed an update as opposed to just starting the process. Is there any more information that can be provided on that?

When I did the Nov 3rd 1.57 update (it did not require a reset like the original October update did) I was able to go to,
Menu, manual setup, option setup, firmware update, Check for update.
If you don't see the check for update option then you do not have the latest firmware.
